Once everyone has their two hole cards, a round of betting begins. This is initiated by 2 mandatory bets called blinds which are placed into the pot by the player to your left. Once the bets have been made, each player starts revealing their cards, one at a time.
Eventually you will be able to read your opponent’s cards based on the way they are playing. This is called reading your opponents and it’s a huge part of the game. For example, if someone is a frequent raiser then you can assume they have a strong hand and are trying to get other players to fold their cards.
